'Pay It Forward' Plan
Making the Widowed Support Program more accessible!
Introducing the ‘Pay It Forward’ plan- an idea mentioned in one of the first posts I wrote on Substack! All content posted here on the ARROW Reflections blog will remain free, and readers will have the option to make voluntary contributions through either a monthly plan, annual plan, or an ARROW Angel Membership. With the exception of the fees that Substack retains for providing their platform (10% of each paid subscription) and the fees that Stripe retains for accepting payments (2.9% + $.30 per transaction),
100% of contributions made to the ARROW Reflections blog will be applied towards Widowed Support Program registration fees for those facing financial hardship.
Each ARROW Angel Membership covers one registration fee in full including the associated platform costs, and can be dedicated in your name or in memory of your loved one, if you wish to have this acknowledged. Bonus: not only are you helping others through your paid subscription, but you will also have the opportunity to pose questions or share topics you would like to hear more about in upcoming posts!
Just to give you an idea of the impact paid subscriptions can make: There are currently 40 subscribers to this blog (THANK YOU, subscribers!). If every subscriber just pledged a yearly plan (a better deal than the monthly plan), it would cover the full registration fees for TEN participants each year!
Every individual who has participated in this program has contributed in some way to its evolution, making it even better for their peers. A couple of previous participants have already pledged donations through ARROW Reflections, which is what encouraged me to finally follow through with the Pay It Forward plan. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your participation, encouragement, generosity, and for believing in this program and its potential to change lives.
Affirmations for the Winter Blues
Seasonal Affective Disorder is relatively common for people who live in climates that get less sunlight at certain times of the year. For those of us affected, it is right about now when winter feels endless, and the lack of sunshine and warmth can take a toll in mind, body, and spirit. As a result, it can even weaken our immune systems at a time when we need them to be the strongest.
There are many different ways to lift ourselves up, one of which is using mental imagery to reach within to find our inner light- our own little piece of the Sun. The Sun is the star at the center of our solar system and we are, after all, made of stardust, too! These affirmations will remind you what you’re made of and help bring you back to balance:
“A piece of the Sun lives within me.”
“I am the sunshine I crave.”
“My spirit burns as bright as 1,000 suns and warms me from deep inside.”
“I am a being of light, warmth, and love.”
Thank you for being here. <3
